Our Founder's Q&A with Breast Cancer Survivor and Activist, Ann Caruso.

"Every October, I feel immense gratitude for our local communities that come together to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a survivor myself, I am passionate about advocating for research and honoring the incredible doctors who provide hope and strength to women facing this challenge. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are proud to support Susan G. Komen through our partnership with our dear friend, Ann Caruso. Together, we aim to make a meaningful impact in the fight against breast cancer and uplift those affected by this journey."- Margaret Anne Nolen, Founder & Creative Director

Q: My doctor shared an incredibly uplifting message of hope and strength when I was diagnosed. As a survivor, what message of encouragement would you offer to women facing a similar diagnosis?

A: Positivity is everything... Hope and faith are powerful companions on this journey. Remember you are not alone and surround yourself with those who embrace you and will support you. We are stronger than we know and taking it day by day keeps us present and not into negative thoughts.

Q: Ann, your holistic perspective on wellness truly inspires us! Along with your fashion formulas, we love your self-care tips on Instagram. What is your guiding motto for embracing a wellness-centered life?

A: I have so many... As I have been working on my holistic wellness since I was a very young girl... Health is wealth and if we don’t have our health we don’t have anything. I have learned that saying no to others is saying yes to me. It is very important to rest and recover. Food can be medicine, so it is important to eat the right organic foods that are right for our body, and, that We can heal our life by embracing a positive mindset and taking the right steps for our health...

Q: Your work as a breast cancer activist is incredibly meaningful to us. October is a time to share messages of healing and resilience, as well as to raise awareness and funds for research. What is your primary message this month for supporting the fight against breast cancer?

A: I want people to know that every breast cancer diagnosis and treatment is different because there are many types of breast cancer. Breast Cancer is affecting more and more younger women. Research saves lives.Preventative health care is very important and to think of Breast Care as Self-Care. Breast Cancer found early can save your life. That’s why Breast Cancer Awareness Month is so important.
